Most live music event attendance centered on the Love Live! and THE IDOLM@STER idol anime franchises. The annual Animelo Summer Live, which brings together many anime music artists, had 81,000 attendees in 2018, and King Records' King Super Live event at the Tokyo Dome had 37,000 attendees.

Anime-related live events made up about 5% of the overall Japanese live music event market, which brought in 387.5 billion yen (about US$3.59 billion) in 2018.
