Dragon Head's Mochizuki Ends Chiisakobee Manga

This year's seventh issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits announced on Saturday that Minetarō Mochizuki will end his Chiisakobee manga in the 11th issue on February 9.
Mochizuki launched the series in 2012, and Shogakukan published the third compiled volume in March.
The manga is based on Shūgorō Yamamoto's historical novel Chiisakobe, which centers on a young carpenter who cares for children orphaned by a large fire the capital city of Edo. The novel follows the carpenter as he rebuilds after the fire and cares for the children. The novel was adapted into a live-action film in 1962.
Tokyopop published Mochizuki's Dragon Head manga in North America in 2006-2008. Three prominent Japanese directors — George Iida, Katsuhito Ishii, and Jōji Matsuoka — have adapted Mochizuki's Dragon Head, Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl (Samehada Otoko to Momojiri Onna), and Bataashi Kingyō manga as live-action films.
