Japanese Box Office, January 8-9

Live-action Yamato film, Inazuma Eleven, Kamen Rider, Ultraman stay on charts

The live-action adaptation of the science-fiction anime franchise Space Battleship Yamato dipped back from #3 to #4 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's box office chart, but stayed at #3 on Box Office Mojo's chart. In its sixth weekend in theaters, the film made the equivalent US$1,554,418 on 440 screens , bringing its total gross to US$44,254,058.

The soccer videogame-based anime film Inazuma Eleven: Saikyō Gundan Ogre Shūrai stayed at #5 in its third weekend. It earned US$1,350,277 on 229 screens for a gross-to-date of US$17,865,448.

Ryūta Tasaki's Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider: OOO & W feat. Skull: Movie Taisen Core dropped from #6 to #7 in its fourth weekend on Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart. According to Box Office Mojo, it earned the equivalent of US$857,801 on 275 screens to add to its total of US$14,822,191.

The Ultraman Zero the Movie Chō Kessen! Belial Ginga Teikoku stayed at #13 on Box Office Mojo's chart in its third weekend in theaters. It garnered US$384,771 on 170 screens for a total of US$3,815,061.

Bleach: Jigoku-hen is no longer listed on either chart.

The #1 film remains the live-action police movie Aibō: Gekijō-ban II for a third weekend.
