Showtaro Morikubo Voices Cyborg Guitarist from Virtual Hard Rock Band Ironbunny

posted on by Kim Morrissy

Okay, so hear me out: there is a cyborg guitarist from the year 2300 performing hard rock music in Japan. In his era, rock is dying, so he has come back to the past in order to change the future. His name: Ediee Ironbunny. He came to the year 2018 and started doing street performances in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, and in January 2019 he performed at the the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show in Anaheim, California. A "digest movie" shows his exploits in America.

Now Ediee Ironbunny is bringing new friends into the fold. He's holding a press conference on March 28 at the Nippon Cultural Broadcasting building, where he plans to celebrate the formation of his rock band unit "Ironbunny," which will have a female vocalist. Voice actor Showtaro Morikubo (Shikamaru from Naruto, Yosuke from Persona 4) will appear at this press conference, handling the voice of Ediee.

The conference will be livestreamed on YouTube and Periscope.

"Ediee Ironbunny" is a collaboration music project produced by Nippon Cultural Broadcasting, TV Asahi Music, and Japan Central Music. After the project first launched, it announced that it was auditioning for a female vocalist. The auditions lasted until January 31.
