well that was a surprise. if end of eva was included , of course it would be number one over tetsuo. it definitely received a very very bad snubbing if you ask me.
also it's not surprising that NO ONE is interested in the next generation countdown. and rightfully so. they should have left boruto with the movie and let the franchise sail into the sunset. but of course money makes the world goes round and this is obviously a marketing ploy to milk money from the franchise as much as possible and the otaku community have already been burned by it (were talking to you dragonball gt) if i was kishimoto i would put an end to this train wreck before it permanently damages the series before the franchise becomes just like bleach. |

That new poll seemed rather familiar, and the fact that it has already ended makes me think that it actually was the poll from last week.

I remember in the archival club days, when AMV's were a new novelty on the tape-trading ether, someone came up with the idea of mashing-up Tetsuo's expansion scene to the tune of:

While Kaneki's Centipede kakuja form is indeed highly disturbing, I'd say spoiler[Eto's] Owl kakuja is even more disgusting, with several, bulging kakuho sacs which, along with it's overall structure, really show just how far a Ghoul's mutation can go. At least you can still recognize Centipede as Kaneki in terms of physical appearance and build, unlike the Owl.

Really, there wasn't anything else that could be picked as #1 over Tetsuo, and I'd probably put that even above End of Eva for grotesque transformations.
Amongst other possibilities, Apocalypse Zero is also worth considering, and it's far from the only late '80s/early-to-mid-90s OVA worth considering. Still, I did like all of the other choices. |

On the poll, I added and voted for Aria Pokoteng/President Aria from ARIA, although I seriously considered voting for John the ferret from Strawberry Marshmallow, but decided he'd be a better choice for a "cutest pet" poll.
There's a fuzzy boundary between "mascot" and "pet" (although not all mascots are pets, some aren't even animals... i.e. any kind of robot), but I'm arbitrarily drawing the line for my vote at "realistic animals": John is "realistic", so he's a "pet" whereas Aria Pokoteng is a not-at-all "realistic" looking cat, albeit a cat evolved to conditions on terraformed Mars, so he's a "mascot". Aside from Akira and Parasyte the other transformation that first came to my mind was the Gastrea in the first episode of Black Bullet. Seeing a guy explode into a spider is not a pretty sight.
