That is so soul-crushing. Cancer at 28? She just got married a year ago, if her Wikipedia article is to be believed. RIP to her, and props to the staff for giving her credit.

That’s terrible. Sad

It feels like cancer is hitting young people with more frequency. My sister who is in her early thirties knows two friends with ovarian cancer, and recently her and two more friends were diagnosed with endometriosis….Please get your annual screenings done if they are available to you!

I’m glad her voice was able to stay in the anime but wow that’s so sad. I hope all who loved her get to hear her voice (s) and smile.

At least she got to be in an anime before her passing but that's too heartbreaking.

It's correct and it was awesome.

Married in October 2022. She did it full well knowing she wasn't supposed to be around for more than a few months and lived every day she had to the fullest. If not for her taking off her wig for a "newlyweds lightsaber duel", literally no one would have guessed anything was wrong. Her partner lost his own mother to cancer 3 years prior, met Samantha after her diagnosis and still wanted to stay by her side. Two incredible human beings whom I'm very grateful to have gotten to know.

She once told me she "speed ran life", left liberated by knowing her time was short and didn't have regrets. That'll always stay with me.

Production knew her situation in advance. That's a big part of why this was able to happen at all. She was able to do all of her recordings within a single day, in January. Even up until her final few weeks, she was still recording for various cartoons that'll come out next year, because she just loved doing it.

Is there a way we can keep track of what shows those will be and when they come out?

That’s amazing. Thank you for sharing including the rest of your post I didn’t quote. She sounded like an amazing woman and I’m glad she was able to do this and others helped it happen.

That's awful to hear. Really glad they were able to accommodate her to get her in at least.
