Tamako is such a weird thing. The show was pretty terrible. Probably one of the worst KyoAni shows theyve made. The movie however is one of the greatest romance films ever made.

I hope this is a sequel 10 years later, maybe with our leads married with children of their own. More likely its going to be some stage play or concert or something :/

Not sure which one of these two statements is more exaggerated than the other

Loved Tamako but hated the bird. The movie was God Tier though.

I mean, it's miles and miles above Myriad Colors Phantom World.... or something like that.

At least it had a follow up, most series are not that lucky.

Wow, it has been 10 years already? Unbelievable.

I remember that I had somehow completely missed that season when it first came out. I only learned about its existence months later when I saw the posters at Kyoto Animation's office near Kohata station. Needless to say that, as a KyoAni fan, I was pretty shocked.

I also saw the movie in a cinema in Kyoto a year later. I thought Mochizō was rather meh and I kept rooting for Midori like crazy. She of course never stood a chance, but I still like the idea of Tamako and Midori running a mochi shop together, living happily ever after.

Ah well, good times.

Count me as another who found the series meh, but absolutely loved the movie. Hoping this new project is a sequel show/movie/special, but expect pachinko baby!

They're both cute, fun little stories, but neither has much substance to speak of

I'm personally looking forward to seeing what they're going to do, because I absolutely enjoyed both the TV series and the movie.

Tamako Market is probably one of the most comfy, pleasant series KyoAni has produced (yes, I say it rivals K-On), and Love Story was an impressively thoughtful followup. I am very intrigued (excited, maybe?) to see what's in store for this project, as it's one of those franchises which, while not NEEDING continuation, I would definitely enjoy more of.

That said... Wasn't this basically Naoko Yamada's baby? I have to wonder who will be heading this project when Yamada is no longer with the company.
