How harem-y is this? And how intense is the ecchi? Also, anilist says this is yuri. Is it true?

You stating "It was about time" implies anticipation and some sort of knowledge of the source material... Confused

I've known of it's existence and popularity for a while now. I mean, it consistently makes the top 10 on J+. I just didn't get into it.

Considering its popularity, you would think something will be lined up next year.

As I recall, Caitlin Moore's evaluation was the exact opposite. :p

It becomes a love triangle and then a harem pretty quickly. That said, there are only 2 serious competitors, the first 2 girls introduced. It's pretty ecchi; not the absolute most ecchi thing out there, but definitely up there. There is a yuri side couple; it probably won't be mentioned during the anime run time if it's only one cour, but it does involve an important side character and is relevant for her characterization.

Anyways, I do personally like this more than Sono Bisque, but they are 2 pretty different anime. Sono Bisque is more of a shoujo type romance, while 2.5D is more of a shounen style romantic comedy. The reason I prefer 2.5 is probably mostly due to personal preference, but it does get into the cosplay side of things more, and the male MC is a more interesting character.

Technically I guess saying "type" gets you off the hook, but: runs in a seinen magazine, Young Gangan.
